The talk introduces innovations like Ark and BitVM and outlines their potential role in scaling Bitcoin in a more trust-minimized manner.
The talk focuses on the future of Bitcoin as a medium of exchange (MoE) and the innovations required to scale it effectively. While Bitcoin excels as a store of value (SoV), its current infrastructure—Bitcoin itself and the Lightning Network (LN)—faces significant challenges in scaling to billions of users.
The talk introduces emerging technologies like BitVM, Ark and Shielded CSV. BitVM, with its ability to enable arbitrary computation and zk proof verification, facilitates the creation of trust-minimized bridges between Bitcoin and sidechains or rollups. These innovations pave the way for Layer 2 solutions that can scale Bitcoin in a more decentralized and secure manner than the predominantly federated multisig bridges used today.
