Proof-of-Work Mining for a Sustainable Future
09-29, 11:30–12:00 (Europe/Berlin), Main Stage

Proof-of-Work data centers can enhance green energy, balance our grids, and mitigate methane emissions. As we move through the energy transition and pursue carbon neutrality, Proof-of-Work mining can play a vital role in helping us achieve our goals.

As we transition toward carbon neutrality, Proof-of-Work (PoW) data centers are becoming essential tools in balancing grids, enhancing renewable energy, and mitigating methane emissions. These data centers provide critical demand response capabilities, ensuring grid stability in a world increasingly reliant on intermittent renewable sources like wind and solar. By purchasing excess energy during periods of overproduction, PoW miners reduce waste and maximize the efficiency of green energy infrastructure. Additionally, it plays a vital role in capturing landfill methane, a potent greenhouse gas, and converting it into energy. Understanding these benefits is key to leveraging PoW mining as a sustainable tool to support our energy goals.
